Auckland is made up of many different towns. It is over a very spread out area with Downtown being by far the busiest district.
Auckland - City of Sails
City of Sails- named because it is the home to the America's Cup and they are pretty much mad on yachting. (It's a nice place but was cloudy when I took these pictures.B)
When flying into New Zealand the main International
airport is in Auckland. 
The panoramic pictures mounting this page are taken from Mount Victoria, Devonport. On the map it is the green area left of North Head. Mt Vic is (among many) an ancient volcano and home to some of the gun batteries which protected New Zealand in the 1st and 2nd World War. In the bottom photo you can see Rangitoto Island and in the top picture the tall thin building is the Sky Tower.
