Coromandel Peninsula The Coromandel is a peninsula east of Auckland with a pretty range of mountains in the centre. Around the edge are some of the nicest beaches I have ever seen. Hot Water beach is on the east coast of the Coromandel and as the name suggests it has hot water. There are two thermal springs on the beach at about 60C, so you dig a hole in the sand and let the sea water wash in to cool it down. Sit in your hole enjoy the heat and drink some wine.

And of course we saw the tractor and thought of Moogie. (Can you tell what type it is?)
Below is Hot Water Beach just before sunrise - we slept in the back of the tonka toy and woke in time to see this gorgeous view.
